Sale on Lightbulbs!
7/27/2008
I'd be depressed that I get excited over sales on lightbulbs, except I know that it isn't just me. Fruper is offering 48-LED white E27 light bulbs for $7.95.

Here are the features:
- 48 white ultra bright LED emitters
- Standard E27 socket for you to easily replace existing traditional bulbs
- Save tons of energy
- Improved circuitry and headsink design (manufacturer claimed)
- 110V AC input (do not exceed 110V)

In other Deal news, Woot is offering a Lexmark X5470 Multifunction printer for $49.99. And for $1.99 you can get a laser pointer keychain with 42 different patterns at Thing Fling.
Get 'Em Before the Clock Strikes Twelve!

Healthy Deals from the Looty Pig
7/24/2008
Now this is a great deal - Cuisinart's Waring Pro Health Juice Extractor for only $34.99 from Lootpig.com. It's brand new, and the retail price is $99.99. The higher end juicers cost over $200, which makes a reliable juicing machine for $34.99 an even better deal in comparision. And if your mother (or your doctor) hasn't told you, juicing fresh fruits and vegetables is a great way to stay in good health! Here are some juicing recipes to get you started, have fun kids....

New "Deal of the Day' Kid in Town
7/24/2008
There's a new kid aiming to capitalize on the Woot Clone market - meet  One Foodie Goodie. It's part of the One Goodies site, which was already offering high-end options like OneMommieGoodie's "My Dentist's Choice Tooth Tissues" for children. One Foodie Goodie is offering a case containing six (8.5 oz) packages of Coconut Palm Sugar blended with your choice of Ginger or Turmeric. The cost is $49.95, which is only 22% discounted from the MSRP price of  $64.38.

Now they can call this a sale if they want, but I'm looking for more from my One Sale a Day sites! We're looking for a least 30% off, if not more. A woot deal is so exciting because it's just the best deal around for the item. We're talking warehouse clearance. For the latest example, Woot is selling 30gig video iPods for $129.99 plus shipping. I don't even use the iPod that I currently have, but I want one at that price!

Conclusion: the "Goodie" site has quality items, but we'll need to see better price reductions before it makes it onto our "Featured Sites" list.
Rubber Ducky, You're the One! (c'mon, sing along)
7/22/2008
Oh, such fond memories of watching Sesame Street as a little kid. No wonder my favorite deal today is the Waterproof and Unsinkable Floating Duck radio offered as the Peal of the Day by Orange Onions. No more iPod bath tragedies; they're really not built for bathtime fun. At $14.99, you get a rubber duckie fit for grownups. There's a little over an hour left on their auction - get it by noon Eastern Standard Time!
Digital Photo Albums are So Harry Potter
7/21/2008
Digital photo albums remind me of those albums in Harry Potter, you know the ones that look like little videos? If you don't have one yet - or if you're looking to expand your photo display, there's a great deal at I Have to Have That They're selling Coby 7" Digital Wooden Photo Frames for $69.99 - (save 42 %.) According to the clock at I Have to Have That, these photo frames are almost gone...
When did they start selling cameras for $80?
7/21/2008
Amazing - woot is selling decent digital cameras for $80. To be precise - it's a refurbished Kodak EasyShare Z1275 12MP/720p Digital Camera w/5x Optical Zoom for $79.99 plus $5 shipping. The reviews all say that it's a pretty good camera. The biggest drawback is that it eats up batteries relatively quickly, which is standard for your less expensive cameras. Still, at that price I think I'll buy one within the hour.

It takes regular batteries, here are the stats:

  • Optional KODAK EASYSHARE Docks with KODAK Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery Pack; 2AA batteries (Ni-MH, Lithium, or Oxy-Alkaline)

  • And for a more direct discussion on megapixels from professional photographer Ken Rockwell, who says megapixels don't matter nearly as much as we think they do:  http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/mpmyth.htm

    Happy shopping,

From HandHeld Items comes a great deal for your new HDTV - HDMI to HDMI 30 Gauge 6 feet cable for only $3.99. These connectors usually go for more like $49.99, so this is a really hot deal.

    Apple iPod Mini 4GB MP3 for $54.95!
    7/20/2008
Back in the day, I remember getting an iPod for free from Apple with a $1500 macbook. If JustDeals had been around selling perfect 4gig pink iPods for $54.95, maybe I wouldn't have felt like such a Smarty McBargainpants.

For all the men out there - what special lady friend (or maybe your wife?) could resist the seduction of a pretty pink iPod? It's practical, yet romantic. It's the color of flowers, yet should last beyond the weekend. For the rest of y'all who are busy pining over the cutie in the next cubicle or across the hall, then my best advice is to stack up your iPod with lonely love songs.

On a more practical note, why the great deal? 4gig iPods run for more like $150, even at deep discounters like MacMall. So why the giveaway?

    1. It's refurbished. Which is often a good thing - refurbished items go through strict quality assurance testing, unlike your regular stuff. Plus there's a 30 day warranty. So don't be like me and leave your packages with your mother while you travel around the east coast. Open it up, check it out, have fun.

    2. The sale is only on tiny little pink iPods. Isn't that so Paris Hilton 2006? If we're going to be that fashion conscious, shouldn't we have a case for our iPod? Problem solved...

Woot of the Day and Reviews
    7/17/2008

Woot of the Day - $79.99 for a Pinnacle Video Transfer for iPod, PSP, or USB Storage Device.

    Here's what the reviewers say:
You’ve got to hand it to Pinnacle: this product is simple.  This device aims to take content from almost anywhere and put it into your USB device like an iPod or flash drive perhaps.  It works the same way every time and I noticed no problems with the recording capture.  The product is designed to provide “high-quality MPEG-4 encoding in H.264 at up to 720x480/576 (NTSC/PAL) resolution and supports multiple inputs including S-Video, Composite video and stereo audio.”

High-speed USB 2.0 connection ensures fast video transfer. The compact size makes it perfect for backing up videos on the go.

Plugging in the S-Video and tri-colored cables into the input side of the device then plugging the USB out to the other is logical.  Also well thought out is the devices visual cues letting you know it recognizes input signal and output as ready to go.  The blue lights then change to red as you push the one button to record.  Nice and easy.
Get Your JellyFish Sodas! (no not really)
    7/16/2008
The uneetee deal www.uneetee.com/category/productInfo.asp is still good for another two hours! They're featuring an eccentric image of a jellyfish soda for $10.00. Hey, whatever floats your boat...
Great deal on Dell computer components at Pacific Geek
    7/15/2008
www.pacificgeek.com  is offering a great "nooner" - which for them means a deal that starts at noon Pacific time. You're looking at a Dell GX280 P4 2.8 GHz Computer System & Much More for the Nooner Price of: $179.99. Now that's before all the upgrades..as of 8:27pm EST they have 19 left....

And Woot's already sold out on their Oppo 1080 High Definition Up-Converting Universal DVD player with HDMI. At $99.99, I guess that's a really good deal! I watch all my tv online through bit torrents, but there's something to be said for the big screen.
